Has anyone been able to figure out &/or fix this problem? I have replaced my gas cap, which I thought did the job until today when my CEL came on again. I have searched to find some information, but I have been unable to find any posts that say what was done to fix the problem. Any help you guys can give me will be great.
Thanks, Aaron

I know someone has at least had a dealer or shop fix this problem for them. Once again any help would be appreciated.

definition from my OBDII Technicians handbook:
P0442 EVAP Must happen twice to throw a code EVAP System Small Leak Detected Conditions:
Cold start warmup, engine running at steady state condition (closed loop), then the PCM detected that the EVAP system flow was incorrect (solenoid was ON).
Evap soleniod was on when it shouldn't be?

Evap canister and valve located under trunk at rear of car. Takes a 10mm socket to loosen 3 bolts, slide it back and drop it. Had mud in mine. Cleaned it out, got rid of that code. Can't find System leak yet.

Thanks Ford Love. I will check mine as soon as I get a chance. So if I'm reading your post correct, you are saying that the code hasn't come back again right? Thanks again & I'll keep you posted on my progress.
