You guys forot about option 4 wiring. Positive wire from side marker goes to positive on blinker. Negative wire from marker goes to positive on parking lights. I can't explain why this works, but the marker light will light up when your headlights are on AND will blink when the turn signal is on, but will blink opposite to your front/rear turn signals.
Sounds to me like 3 and 4 are the same thing.
