Hey, this is for all the BC (Fraser Valley)Contour-ists.

Just got my 98SE sport thru aircare and now for the past
couple of days the ABS light comes on when you first start the car in the morning and then turns off as soon as you start driving. This happens evey time you start the car.

Will this just go away eventually or do I need to reset the PCM?

Also anyone know of anyplace that will do a no charge OBDII
code read?

thanks

If it was going to go away it would have. Sounds like the ABS fails initial test.

Not in Canada. Drive south, suck up to someone that has a reader, or get one - oh yeah, or pay through the nose.

Hi,
Yeah, this may not sound like the best solution but what I do when the CEL or any other light (like ABS) is on too long or stays on, I just disconnect the battery, wait a few minutes and then turn it on to see if it works. Not terribly technical but its worked. Depends if you wanna spend dough on the car...I do not.

Just a follow-up.

The third day after Aircare the ABS has returned to normal.
Turns on when you first start the engine ... and turns off shorly after.

Thanks for the help

I have a '98 Tour and had a problem with the ABS making a grunting sound on start up and finally the light staying on. The ABS unit had to be replaced $$$ by the dealer. I was told that on start up the ABS unit tests itself.

I just thought that I would share that tidbit with you.
