I was just looking at headers... and I saw this one kit... What is that expand in the pipe, it kind of looks like a resonator... on the pipe that goes after the header?

Yep they put a res in there instead of a cat to remove the raging bumble bee sound you get when you take the cat of a four banger.

Sweet, I should just get that instead of replacing my cat converter (if thats whats going on with my car).

I bet that whole header kit costs less than a replacement cat from Ford.

The flange off the header doe not look like it would match up to the down pipe. Maybe it is the picture, but is that a turbo header?

Nuh, uh...it's the super duper power expansion chamber. It allows the exhaust gases to expand out from the header into the larger chamber thus creating mucho backpressure (read: backpressure=torque) forcing the gases back into a smaller diameter pipe & finally exiting the system.
Get it? You will be able to do wheelies in reverse. If this is to much torque & you'd rather have a bit of high-end the super duper power expansion chamber can be cross-drilled to allow escape of some of the pressure (only drill as much as you need, do a little at a time - USE A SMALL BIT)...
The down pipe will not be able to be used on the contour application due to the differences in the contour vs. focus (although it may be able to be modded, but the OBX isn't exactly the pinnacle of quality & probably not worth the added expense). The contour has an engine cradle while the focus has a crossmember (slighty different routes to take underneath the car w/ exhaust), also I believe there is an issue w/ the air conditioning.
But you didn't hear that from me...
