If I am at about 2000 rpms and I give it about 3/4 pedal the car will buck and hesitate like it's running out of gas / missing. Example - cruising along in 4th gear at about 1800-2100 rpms and I need to speed up, either I have to ease into the gas slowly to build speed slowly or downshift. IAC is clean and the plugs look good. A friends mechanic reccomended a new coil but I really don't want to be throwing parts at it without a second opinion.

Nope
Today I had 2 people in the car with me, the first time since I bought it there was more than 1 person in the car. It was even worse at low rpm's I really had to ease in the gas or it would miss / hesitate.

How much gas is in the tank when this happens or is it ALL the time?
Could be a fuel pump issue, or if it is all the time, it may be that the fuel filter is totally clogged.

It happens all the time and doesn't matter how much gas in it or if the engine is cold or hot.
I guess I will take the cheapest / easiest fix first and try a new fuel filter. I bought the car used so I have no idea how old the filter is.
Anyway to check the coil with a volt-meter?

get some new wires if that dosent fix it look at the fuel presure regultor

My CEL finally came on  Stopped at Autozone and they checked the code. "Cylinder number 1 missfire detected" is all he got. I was going to get some new plug wires on it first and then if that's not it I will check back in on this thread. Unless someone has a better part to replace first?
