'99 and up SVT's have to have the entire computer sent to superchips to have a jumper installed or it won't work correctly!

Tim '00 SVT You are giving up way too easy! Just send your chip to Superchip for a custom burn. Actually, if you are planning more mods with the intake and exhaust, wait until you have installed everything and then get a custom burn while on the dyno!

SPEEDEMON it seems you've had the same problem as me. This is what you do! Take apart the ECU again, use a magnifying glass and inspect with flashlight both sides of ECU terminal contacts for any residue, silicone ect., wipe/scrub it good. Then put the ECU back together, now inspect the chip for any signs of wear or irregularities in the distance top and bottom terminals across the whole chip with the magnifying glass. If that checks out OK, give it a few good blows than put on some double sided 3M Tape across the side of the chip that contacts the ECU, make sure both ends have tape from top to bottom. Then after installing rap with electric tape and seal the gaps so dust can't enter. The purpose of 3M is to keep the chip from being at an improper angle that could cause bad connection (car shutting off) and from excessive movement, the Electric tape just adds to that reinforcement and also as a seal...Hope this works for you, Aloha

I removed the PCM and superchip today. Cleaned the connectors really well using a green scrubby. Also used a really really soft sandpaper type cloth on the chip connector to clean out any possible contanimants. Reconnected everything back up and when I goto start the car I hear a very strange noise coming from the solinoid? And of course the car doesn't start. So I disconnected everything, verified I hooked everything back up correctly. Turned the key and still nothing. By this time I'm getting a bit frustrated. So I removed the superchip and now the car starts up w/no problems. Put the chip back on and same problem. What could have possibly gone wrong? I grounded the chip to the chassis before installing. I removed the ground wire from the battery before doing anything each time. From the post above it says something needs to be jumpered. Is it possible that before my chip wasn't making a good connection and now that it does it wants that jumper? The sticker on my superchip says it's for a '99 SVT (was originally bought through KKM). According to the guy I bought it from he had it programmed to an XGT1 computer, which I reverified that I have. Any ideas on what to try? Should I send it in to either superchip or kkm to see if it can be tested? Should I try it on another pcm to see if it's mine? Or should I look at eBay for selling it. (hah) Thanks

Tim O ~
All 2000 SVT's require a jumper to be added to the PCM in order for the chip to work!
Without this jumper and the chip installed you will get nothing when you turn the key.

Hey Demon, do you know where the jumper is supposed to go? Or does anyone have a picture of their jumpered pcm? I do have some soldering skills. Tim '00 SVT

Tim '00 SVTI pretty sure you will have to send your chip and Pcm to superchip or warren. I dont think its anything you can do at home.

I believe there is a schematic for it but from what I understand it's like soldering on a PC board, ie very hard! I believe they do it for no more than shipping costs.
