Allright, I've cooled down a bit, but I still think this was BS since when I first went over to where the display was the shelf tag for that lappy was not there. I *really* didn't like the attitude of the "manager" (didn't even introduce himself) and smelled major rotten fish when he began to offer it for sale without box/rebates... Also, since this was a "closeout" item and an older model I doubt that they are getting more in so that they need to save the display model to avoid having to discount another one as a display later.
As for why I didn't go earlier, I was at the zoo with my kids.
I didn't expect to find this deal when I finally got to CC but to be told they won't sell the only remaining computer that's being cleared out of inventory just frosted me to no end. I admitted that I didn't know exactly how the business works, which is part of the reason why I made this post.
I'll just have to keep an eye out for a good deal. I figure the longer I hold out the better comp I'll get for the $$.
