Well when I did the work I found it easier to remove the entire LIM and work on it on my bench than leaving the rails in the engine compartment.
My comment on the hoses stands. There should be no reason to EVER cut the lines to get the couplings apart.
By the way after the cleanning of the LIM and UIM the engine runs sweet with a better idle and a noticable increase in performance....
