I recently had my fuel pump replaced (under ESP warranty) at the dealer. They wanted to also add on a $200 charge to have my injectors cleaned, according to their readings, the injectors were working at less than 100%. Is there a cheaper way of having them cleaned?

Yes. Go anywhere but THAT stealership. Normally the injector cleaning service is $50-70. You can do it yourself with a premade kit for about half that. NAPA should carry them.

That doesn't clean inside the injectors.
The pintle is closed normally and the injector does not take in fuel (fluid) not under pressure.

A bottle of high quality injector clean added to the gas does wonders for cleaning up the injectors. I like RedLine and Techron. Unless the injectors are really bad, this usually does the job. Do yourself a favor and clean the throttle body at the same time. Doing a chemical cleaning on the cr of the intake manifold will also help. If you do those three things you will be very pleasantly supprised at how much better the car runs.

I ran some Berryman's B-12 in through the intake, had the injectors & throttle body cleaned for $50 at my local auto shop, and changed my oil this weekend. The car is running much smoother now, thanks for the advice everybody.

What hose size will I need to fit through the vacuum line on the top of the intake manifold and how do you take the hose off. They seem to be glued on (not literally).
