I thought my stock V6 sounded fine with out the resonator. Just a tad louder and it did seem to breath a little better. (My wife didn't notice any difference in the sound...) When I changed to bigger pipes and dynomax mufflers, the drone was bothersome, so I put a high flow resonator back in. On a stock SE exhaust, I thought the change was pretty subtle. I think the engine ran a tad cooler and possibly got a bit better mileage.
