Brought up the turbo CSVT to license and register it here from AZ. Have failed emissions twice now! Does anyone have any ideas as to how to "swing" by this?

Is this Chris' old car? If so, you got a great car! As for smog here, even if it's passing on the sniffer, it will not pass visual. You may have to take it to a Referee station since the car was originally registered in AZ. The visual exam consists of checking for all the related smog equipment, meaning that the turbo's exhaust manifolds deleted the two front cats. That's how the Arizona guys get lucky, as long as there is not CE light, they'll put it on the sniffer and since the car runs clean, it'll pass!

You're pretty much done with a non stock turbo on a CA car...You need to find a place that will look past visual ...as long as you can pass the sniffer. Be prepared to pay a bit more also. The only other thing i could think of is somehow find a way to register it in AZ again. I've heard of these Honda guys registering in Oregon to avoid smog out here, just don't know the details.

Chris sold his car?

I'm not sure about this , but how about installing a high flow cat were the resinator used to be, just after your turbo down pipe. I'm assuming that the resinator isn't thier anymore, so there should be space for one.

You may have to put the car back on the dyno to re-tune for the new exhaust change, but it might bring your emission levels down enough.

If you have any pics of your turbo set up, I'd like to see them, post a few. By the way, were at in Cali(Norcal or Socal) are you?

The hard part is that all catalytic converters must remain in their original, stock locations, so having a cat more downstream is still in violation visually, even if it is helping at the sniffer. And, even if the car is sporting the main cat, the two "light off" cats are missing, and the turbo doesn't carry a CARB EO number.

You will have to find a smog station that will be less strict with the visual portion of the test. But being that you failed twice, I think you automatically have to go to a "referee" station or state run station, don't you?

Yes, Chris sold his car...

Thanks for all your replies guys! I have since had my old chip sent to me with a new program, and today we will go for a third shot. Also poured in some of that "Guaranteed to Pass" junk in the gas tank. Wish me luck!
I do in fact have a cat in its original location (where the stock one would be). I seem to have got the visual part squared away, and a fake CARB E0#. What I am failing is the sniffer itself. So this time, if it fails, I will take whichever reasonable "hookups" you guys have!
PM me your #s, just in case, PLEASE!!! This has been a nasty nightmare...
