Well a few days ago when we had a real cold night I went to start the tour and all was well until the next day when I noticed a crack running from underneath the passenger wiper blade area to about 25% up the front of the windshield. Then today I scanned for any other cracks or any irregularities* in the windshield. I hadn't noticed anything so I started the car let it run for like 5min then got my kids in and drove to Farmer Jack to buy some groceries. So, then after listening to people complain about the prices of food, as compared to how much cheaper it was 4+ years ago. I start the car windows were all foggy (the temp outside dropped a good 20 degrees with the wind blowing) and as the windshield is 'defrosting' I noticed a small crack on the drives side just below eye level that was not there when I had checked earlier. Anywho anyone know of a good place to get a windshield replacement under $300. Bleh, I love this car and was just talking to my wife about keeping it as my fixer car after we get our Jeep. It still has it's Kansas sticker on the windshield.....

Well as long as it isn't expanding you may not even need to replace it. Hell I had atleast two cracks on my old Aerostar for a good 3 years. We even kept the vehicle outside during the winter and summer so it was completely exposed. Take it to a glass place..I dunno Henderson Glass or somebody and see what they say. The only class people I've heard of are Henderson and Harmon's or soemthing like that...Good luck!

im not to sure about places, but you can always try the phone book. i had mine replaced for $150 cash

What about your car insurance? Mine had a couple cracks and all I had to pay was $100 deductible. My regular deductible is $500 but since it was the windshield, it was lower.

My regualr deductable is $500 but I'll call Monday and see if mine is the same as yours as far as the windshield replacement goes....
Full coverage insurance is $96 on the ole 'Tour

Hello I own a glass shop and i could get you a windshield real cheap , original factory glass not any of that mexican [censored]. its a 96 contour gl? ill let you know on a price monday when i get to the shop and get into the computers, but it wont be that much, are you going to do it yourself or want me to install it also?

It will be a shop install and It MUST carry a warranty.....

I'm in need of a new windshield too, same boat, though, mine's been cracked for a long time. I'm just too lazy to get it fixed, lol.

im not sure why eveyone says its so much, just before i sold my tour i had the ws replaced, 150.00 even, out the door. nuthin like 500 tho.
