Same here as far as the truck being my daily driver. And I also don't care for the 4-spoke LE wheels. I'd rather have the wheels from the NISMO package even though they're 16's vs. the 17's.

I also don't like the fact that the new Frontiers/Tacomas optioned out cost more than a less optioned Titan/Tundra. But a Crew Cab midsize truck is more than enough for me and if it saves me a few gallons here and there, I'll be happy.

Does anyone know when the Ranger is due for a redesign? Either way, I'll probably have a Frontier CC within the next month or two, unless I get a really good deal.

i drove two frontiers over the weekend and was really impressed. interior quality is a bit less than satisfying (particularly when compared w/ the F150 or the like) - dash plastics just felt and looked cheap, w/ no graining and all hard to the touch, but the truck itself really impressed me. oddly enough i preferred the NISMO ride quality to the regular 4x4 ride quality, quite the opposite of what i'd expect. wish you could get heated leater seats in the NISMO and not just the LE, but oh well. the NISMO cloth is fine. didn't get to listen to the rockford fosgate stereo, but i'd probably go ahead and spring for it - the base stereo was a bit wimpy, and the RF head unit looks a lot better than the cheesy-looking base unit. drove a 6MT model as well - too bad you can't get the manual in the crew-cab NISMO or LE; it drove very smoothly for a truck manual. i'd probably still end up w/ the 5AT for a variety of reasons, though.

if i get one, it'll be a NISMO crew cab in storm gray/graphite cloth w/ moonroof and RF audio package and probably the sliding bed extender. we'll see what happens.

Have you thought about getting a slightly used 3/4 ton diesel? You basically get the fuel mileage of a gas 6cyl with a lot more power.

not really - guess it could be an option, but i really don't need that much truck. HD suspension would be a bit stiff for a truck that'll never be loaded anywhere near its limits, i would think...haven't driven one, though.
