I know on my 95, the ECT has a two pronged electrical connection and the one for the temp sender for the dash has a one post connection that the connector slips onto. The one for the dash is on top of the coolant distribution and the ECT is on the back side, facing the back of the car. The ECT is a real pain to get to.
