Are there any tricks to removing the cv axle on the drivers side. I've done what the haynes manual says and it won't come for anything.

I had the same thing...pass side popped out easy, and driver side was a little harder. Get something with leverage. I used a 2X4 block of wood about 5 ft long and it popped out of the tranny with some force.
