special tool, schmecial tool.... you can yank it off of there.


The only thing to worry about is not ripping the CV boot while pulling. Take something long and sturdy, wedge it behind the rotor, and give it a slight pop.. that'll break it loose.. then slide it off.. once off, it will have enough room to move sideways WITHOUT removing, or loosening the strut perch, or anything else.


Once the front half is free, the rear should slide out with little to no resistance. If needed another small leveraged pop should so it.

Also try not to seperate the inner CV joint. I did this by mistake once. Even though every body said I shoud be able to but it back together no problem, I have to open the boot, put the joint back together, and then reseal it.
