There was still a full interior, and I saw it at the Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor, Ford was sending out flatbed trucks to pick up the GT's to have them repaired.

I would. When I work at an Acura dealership, I personally worked on a few NSX's throughout the summer. I accually worked on the same 04 model (fixed headlights and such) that all the car mags tested. The PR director needed new tires put on, so they brought it to my dealership and i got stuck trying to fit low-low profiles on those rims without a scratch. Needless to say, lots of lube
