de-chroming the car seems essential for a Ford to look good lately. Though, the chrome on the rear end doesnt look bad.

Hmmm.... Duratec 35 in a Fusion, which is a Mazda 6 platform, means the D35 should fit in a Mazda 6 too.... Hmmmmm.... I likey.

From the front it looks like the new STS. From the sides it somewhat looks like a jetta.

Why do people compare a Ford to a BMW, Infinity, Volvo or an Acura? Completely differnt classes of cars, with different price points.
The old adage works here: You get what you pay for.
And I did. I got into a bone stock G35 6MT, out of a SVT Contour, so I think I'm qualified to respond. I'd say that the Fusion fully loaded will not be that much less than what I paid for the G35 (give or take a few grand).
My complaint is that Ford is now essentially a coach builder. They allow Volvo and Mazda to do all of the engine design and chassis development. Then they slap on a body that's so watered down from the concept car:

Ford is now basically Buick, getting vanilla hand me downs from it's sister companies. Blah.
See bold, then, do math.
1. assume $27,000 2. +/- 'a few grand' = $3,000
A 'few grand' is ~11%. Not a small number. Again it's not an apples to apples comparison.

i like it a lot. if it had the 270 HP engine in it, i'd rock it! change out the radio for a flush touch-screen nav/dvd combo and you're done.

Perhaps I'm biased?

Edit - link fixed. Also, the quote from the Color and trim Manager is inaccurate; she never said the tan is grey only grey bit...

I like it, although I like the photoshopped versions more. But I don't think it'll matter because it's not like I can afford it. I think I'd be better off putting 10K into old BMW 5-series sedans every five years or so.

Price Range (estimated MSRP): $25,500 - $35,000
That's a complete deal breaker. 5-8k too much...
