Because I spend a great deal more time in my car than looking at it from the outside.

Me personally, I don't care about the interior as much as the exterior. I like the exterior a lot. The chrome grilles (top and bottom) will get some kind of treatment in my garage, that's for sure, and the chrome surrounded tails will also be changed. As for the interior, well, the radio sucks. BUT I did put a Kenwood CD player in my second car in the parking lot before I left the dealership.

Yeah Yeah I see the point. Ford's gauge cluster and radio design suck compared to especially the dodge and honda; both of which can be swapped out with hopefully afermarket on the first..to me, the rest of the design is original and nice looking. Especially the black chrome trim..I still stand by what I said originally.

I like the interior personally, atleast from what i can see, i dislike the radio so far though. I dont need anything never seen before, or completely origional or...well you get my drift. It looks simple, and I like it. Exterior has some stuff I would change, not a fan of the taillights (too big and they stand out too much imo) but thats nothing that i shouldnt be able to change. I'll wait for the ST or SVT version before I buy, but thats a definate contendor for contour replacement for me.

How did everyone get so spoiled? You/we drive CONTOURS. It's decent if you look a it such that its being produced by Ford. Why not compare it to other Ford models past and present. Its fair to say that Ford has always had fairly tame interior stylings. And Sure, there are excepts like anything else in the world.

First of all most people on here own others cars, have new cars or ride in other/friends cars. Okay it looks good compared to a focus, crown vic, escape etc. What is posted above is interiors of cars that are direct competitors. People aren't going to say wow this looks so much better then that $11,000 focus! or that 98 escort or that 2000 Contour. If ford wants to revive its car sales it needs to do something drastic. It already has the plain jane 500.

The 500 is a nice car. The fusion should be something different, a standout product for Ford. I think everyone on here is ready for Ford to make an exciting sedan. Something that lives up to the contour SVT or even first gen taurus. Something that is revolutionary or special. Im tired of being disappointed. How about stick the new volvo v8 into one of these cars. Then they could compete with the new V8 offerings of GM. How about blowing us away with an interior that stands out in its class?

When I am looking to spend 25-30k on a sedan I will probably just laugh at Ford after driving the competition
