V6 models has 210HP and 200 ft/lb of torque.
0-60 is quoted to be less than 8.5 seconds.
That is not impressive.

No numbers are set in stone right now, but they're pretty close to the Mazda6 numbers albeit slower because it's much heavier. And it, along with the Mazda6, will be getting the new 3.5L in '07. So I'd definitely sit out on this the first year.

Same thing I was thinking except I'd go Honda on the rear. Looks like they stole the front off a g35 and threw it on an older Accord.

I hate to say it but Ford really isnt coming out with new cars that I like. Also I hate all new box look I like my sleek contour. If all else fails I will join the EVO / STI guys.

There's a Ford "insider" on edmunds.com that indicates there will be a ST version with the Duratec35 and approximately 270hp coming. There are also rumours of an SVT version being considered.
I am definitely hoping that a stick will be offered (there definitely will be a 5spd available for the 2.3L I4) otherwise it will be a deal breaker for me. I'm just wondering what the differences will be between the Mazda 6 and Fusion chassis. It would be nice to have some sort of ready-made aftermarket if/when I get mine.

I like ford, but their cars seem to keep getting worse... I think my mom went the right way and got a volvo S40t. If ford had a contour svt these days I would buy it, but they dont even offer a v6 in the focus . yeharg, its hard to buy american cars when they arnt close to being good...
