Does your shifter have any play in it? Could be the shift tower causing you problems ...

There is no play in the shifter. I am thinking something to do with the clutch, simply because the car goes into gear fine with the engine off. Find out tomorrow, goes into Ford at 8:15

Yeah I agree with pat. My 5 speed tour sucks to shift while its cold, once I run through the gears going down the road once or twice they start to get Smoother/better.... its a pretty common trait as cars age.

Mine does it just as much in the hot summer as it does in the cold winter.

Well Thursday night I was looking in Grassroots Motorsport and saw an advert for BAT inc. Basicaly they import Euro Ford parts into the US. They also happen to be in my home town Sarasota FL. They sell all the uprated parts ect. so figured they would know what they are doing.

Called Ford, cancelled, simply because I was not comfortable with them working on the car, it took them 5 days to replace the headers on my Dads Mustang!.

Called BAT, don't do the trans work, but recommended a guy at a nother Ford dealer. So went down there, asked to talk to him, taken back to his bay and he has a AC Cobra sitting there!

Told him have an SVT ect, few problems and was recommended to you, said he knows about them, and has a very good following where I live.

So now it goes to him on Monday morning at 8:00.

The car is progressivly getting worse.

I am happy, yet annoyed at the same time. Simply because if it is the clutch, I have the chance to do everything else at the same time.

So I need some recommendations for clutches. A.It must last a while as I am in Univ. and can't afford to be dropping these trans.

Where are the best prices for Quafie LSD's? BAT has them for $695.

Which syncs should be replaced?

And the the shifter forks?

What about cables?

Sorry its long, but keeps the thread informative for others.

ADC sells the Torsen with both bearings pressed on and a new speedo gear for ~$670 shipped.

(The 2 bearings, gear, and machine press labor is about $100 itself)

AAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

$1400 for a new clutch installed at Ford.

$900 for labour, $500 for parts. Turns out the clutch is bad.

After finding out it thats much I am going o hold off on the LSD and Shifter forks for now. Even though BAT can get me the Quafe LSD and Clutch for $995.

ANyways, I need recommendations for clutches.

I can get the Sachs from BAT for $390? How are they ect.

How is the Ford stock one, if it has lasted this long, can't be that bad?1

Centerforce clutches?

hanks
