When I come to a stop, say at a light, the trans sometimes will not want to go into gear. If I let out the clutch a couple of times ect it will go, albeit a little rough. When moving the car shifts fine most of the time, I noticed though that the higher the revs, generally the easier it is to shift, which is strange as usually it is the oppposite. So if I am rolling towards the light, and put it in first it will go in fine.
Also, how much is a new trans/rebuild. Ford want $1900 for a 2 year 24K mile warranty. Everything except clutch. Worth it?

when was the last time you had your transmission fluid changed? ALSO what year/model/engine you have, and im going to assume you have the 5 speed MTX-75 transmission.

Someone was saying in another post to use Chrysler ATF+4 or something like that.

Sounds more like a clutch problem then a tranny fluid problem.

I think it is to do with the clutch. My dad was explaining to me that of the splines/splindel isn't lubricated which the plate slides on, then it will not engage properly, thus after you do it a couple times it will go. So does anyoneknow if there is an accsess for this, or a tranny out job.
How much is a new tranny btw? and an engine? regarding the warranty.

I highly doubt that is it, there is enough play in the shaft for it to slide without lube.
