Do emissions places check for precats?
Mike
I am sure that in CA they are supposed to check for all 3 cats. Fooling the computer is the least of your worries. Fooling a competant inspector might be tough. Fooling somebody that has no clue or that won't complain about the headers would solve that problem. Failing would suck, since it would mean re-installing the OEM manifolds.

Should have no problem with the sniffer test.

In CA SMOG II you have to pass both a full inspection and sniffer test. If your gas cap seal is old, and dry you fail the test. I am not sure about fooling anybody on the pre-cats .. jj

Yeah, if I were in CA, I'd have done the mystery mod. I should pass a sniffer test, but not a visual. Good ol' NM plates. laugh

I should really register my car back in SC, no emmissions. Hell, you can drive your car on fire and they don't care. It's nice being military sometimes. laugh
