a little known fact about stripes on a car is that they actually need to taper to from a line that the eye thinks of a straight

I had that problem with my duct tape... eyeballing it they always came out crooked... whipped out the good ol wooden rule(r, you know, the school kid kind) and that fixed it.

Good to know about that, though, in case I want to get professional stripes done to another car.

Yes the GB sticker is law to have if we travel from UK to
France etc. God only knows why, its not like we have the same number plates as them.
I have got rid of it now and now they appear as part of the number plate instead.

Sorry for going off topic !

Just to show what's involved, here's the measurements for skunk stripes on a 1965 Shelby:

1965-66 Shelby Lemans Stripe Dimensions

9 1/4" At bottom of front lower valance
9 1/4" Leading edge of the hood
10 1/2" Bottom of the windshield
10 1/2" Top of the windshield
10 3/8" Top of rear window
10 1/8" Bottom of rear window
10" Leading edge of trunk lid
10" Bottom edge of rear valance

Briggs Cunningham was perhaps the first to popularize these stripes (back in the 1950s).
