I totally agree. It is a law of good automotive design to NEVER put the taillights above the beltline. However, this is vastly better than the Aztek Award nominee that we have.

That said, I really don't think this car would impact Mustang sales much. They appeal to two totally different types of performance customer.

How many SVT Focus people were also looking at Mustangs? Nobody I know.

That said, Ford is playing the automotive game not to lose, and they are losing as a result. They need to become aggressive again, take chances, and play the car game to win.

Rara, you speak the truth, but as for me, forget the Mustang, I am one American that would strongly prefer that Focus over a WRX for a comparable price.

ford needs a new sport compact, that needs to have F/I, and they need to think fast! and this is the perfect oportunity to finally end dodges rath with there gheynes srt-4, with manual rear windows

I'm sure they can "degrade" it and remove quite a few things to bring the price down to srt-4 territory, and plop the good ol 2.4T in there, hell even the 2.3 Duratec turbo is fine.

make it 250 HP, WAM byebye srt-4... wtf is wrong with ford...

even GM has the cobalt SS, which is only hittin 14.5, but I'm sure thats underated.

Don't we all know by now that GM and Ford will never import/build stuff like that here. In their eyes we're all SUV-Minivan loving soccer moms.

Europe/Japan has a much better small car culture. Years ago I drove an Alfa sedan with a 4 and it sounded 10 times better than any 4 I've heard since (But I've not driven many since then either )

Hopefully the next generation Neon, Cobalt, and whenever Furd decides to give us the Focus on the 3 platform will address some of these shortages. Considering the billions of dollars we all spend modding our cars it's amazing the Big 3 have taken so long....

But maybe the 2000's will be like the 60's. Starts off slow but by 68-72 they were making big power!

That is until the gas runs out..........
