With the Dollar at record lows against the Euro, you would have to pay soooo much for the car.
We need Ford to import the car here... heck, if they can import a $30K X-type, then I do not see why this could not be in the low 20's.

I must be the only one who thinks that car is butt ugly. from the front to the rear it looks gross.
I wouldn't pay $10,000 for it.

You can't exactly just convert to american dollar and say this costs $37,500. There are other factors to consider.

My guess would be that the price would go up to make it EPA ready.

The simple fact is that US buyers won't pay for the cool small cars like europe will. Then, even if Ford figured out a way to get the price down to $25k for the US market, it would grossly undercut Mustang sales. Talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I don't see how it would cost $37k, you can buy a Volvo S50 T5 which uses the same chasis and motor (basically) has AWD and other goodies for $30k. I don't see how it would canibalize that many mustng sales either, we know the V6 outsells the V8 gretely to begin with and how many people are going to cross shop a V8 RWD coupe with a turbo FWD hatch?
But yeah, nobody would probably buy it, and Ford doesn't like making niche vehicles. Quote:

Exactly, car prices in the UK are often quoted as OTR (on the road) prices including taxes, licensing etc.
EPA aproval wouldn't be hard as the engine has been used in different versions for about 10 years in Volvo's. Safety would be more of an issue for federalization simply because that body style (2nd gen) isn't being sold here, as a Focus anyway.

I'de hit it, my only problem is why do they put the lights beside the rear window? I hate that, I think the lights need to be brought down, like the alfa 156 or something.
