Audio, no, but possibly video. When it comes down to HDTV and digital output, there is most likely a difference in quality of cable; however, I'm sure you could get a high quality digital video cable for less than the price of a monster cable...

it's funny you mention that. when you are dealing with digital audio and video, the need for "better" cables will theoretically decrease. it's either there or it isn't. you can't distort 1's and 0's.
as long as the cable isn't introducing anything into the audio/video stream, it won't matter.

Good point! Throw some Cat-5 or 6 on there and run with it!
Also, if you actually want audio cables that really DO minimize noise, (by virtue of the amplifier design of the components connected) you could go to a true balanced system like Zapco's Symbilink.

Lol I never thought of it that way. You would have to get cable that could transfer a large amount of signal w/o distortion or dropped numbers, at a high rate of speed. There is a lot of info coming out of a DVD player to a HDTV, since the resolution is so high.

I like Knu's stuff. Bought an amp kit for my 2 channel and my installer was flabbergasted at what I paid for it.
BTW, there is an EXTREME markup on accessories such as interconnects. When I worked at Best Buy, they were marked up at lest 150-200%

IMO, wire is just wire.... only place id use types of wire is computers, where speed matters, as long as it shows very low resistance, i dont care, in fact, if it works, it displays my picture from DVD to TV/Comp, and audio to the speakers, I dont give a [censored] Now the only Monster Cable products I own, are a pair of SHORT ASS "Audio" RCA-Jack cables, which I dont use because they are too short to get from DVD player to my Altec Lansing Dolby Digital speakers, so I got a Radioshack brand in, AND the Monster Cable product I DO use is a surge protector that sucks, because the light on the switch burned out.... BUT the plug was long.... so i kept it in use, I got it for free from my uncle though, he found it at his new house, and asked if i wanted it

I went to Knu's site to see how much it would cost me to get ALL the wires I need to do the stereo in my Contour and it was under $150.00 If I were to buy monster stuff it would be about $400.00 SO when I get my tax return I will be placing an order for my wires.
