FWIW, has nothing to do with a Contour. They are just a universal fit muffler. I think this style caters more to the Japanese car crowd though, I don't think I'd see that on a Contour.
Yes, they would work if you wanted.

I have supplied a similar design Magnaflow muffler (14824) for use on our cars. I have them and so do about another 4-5 people. They look great and sound great too (the Magnaflows, that is) but they cost more than Aerospeed cos they are of higher quality. Just so you know, that stupid thing is listed for almost every car. I am tired of searching for a car on eBay and getting 'EXHAUST SETUP ______'.
