Hi, I've been having a little problem this last week with my '99 CSVT. Somehow overnight the inside of my car traps condensation. My front winshield as well as front driver and passenger side windows will be wet and fogged over from the inside. I am really having a hard time figuring out what is causing this, I decided to run a hose on the car over the windshield and windows to see if i could get it to produce a leak but still no luck. is there any way something else could be producing steam or moisture that would fog up my car like this after I turn the engine off? any help or experience would help, thanks

Sounds like you've got some moisture trapped in the car(damp carpet, etc.) You'll have to wait for a dry, sunny day and leave the windows open. Unfortunatly, if it is cold and rainy/snowy it will continue to be fogged up in the morning until you can dry it out. Just my .02

Not sure about the "after the car is turned off" part, but fogging inside the car while driving (particularly with the defroster on) is a classic sign of a leaking heater core.

Just another thing to think about...

You can get anti-fog for the inside of the windows of the car. It is made by the same company that makes Ranix. $.99 at Walmart, IIRC. Doesn't work great, but it does something.

As Phil said "heater core" and it's a real bear to replace. Don't ask how I know!

Although it doesn't seem to be much of a problem with our cars, you should check and make sure that the A/C drain is not plugged.

The common practice is to probe the drain gently with coat hanger wire from under the car. It is kind of hard to locate since there is heatshield material sort of in the way. On mine it drops right onto the exhaust near the front of the main cat.

Also if you have a strong sweet odor along with it, you may have a heater core leaking. The odor should be obvious. If it is leaking enough to mess up the windshield the odor would be unmistakable.

Or maybe your just breathing too hard when you drive . . . or when your not driving.

There is no smell in my car. I think its just moisture from the inside. I picked some rain x up and i dont like it. It seems to work ok but not as good as I expected or as it shows on the box.

This stuff is supposed to work differntly from rainx. Rainx outside makes the water bead off faster. This stuff is supposed to stop condenstation from ever forming. Give it a try, you are only out a dollar or two if it doesn't work. You could also try leaving your window cracked open a bit on a night it isn't too cold, or let the defroster run before you drive. I only usually have this problem in the summer.

if you want the fogxx to work the best you need to bake it on. after you have put it on. set the defroster on high heat and let it bake for about 5-10min also using a hairdryer at the same time works well to make sure it is on good.
