It isn't (I run it). 7.5" is still narrower than the section width, and allows for max stiffness in the sidewall=quicker turn-in, etc. It's also in the acceptable range of widths for that size tire (205/55-16). 225 would put more rubber on the road, however, so it's a tradeoff.
