As did I. I have an American Lit. books that could choke a hippo. Yes, they are an easy read. I still find them thought provoking. He must be doing something right if Dateline and NGC have done specials on the book.

You know, there's nothing wrong with literature that doesn't aspire to classicism. I've certainly read far more complex texts than The Da Vinci Code, but that didn't dull my interest in it. Why not appreciate it for what it is instead of slam it for what it isn't?

He's sold a bunch.
They did specials on Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus (which was on the Bestseller's list for a long time) too. That doesn't mean they're classical literature or even incredible intellectual works.

I honestly believe dan brown. Another thing is that if u look at the last supper painting. Next to Christ is a girl. Not a guy. She has boobs. It is believed that the holy grail is not a cup but Mary Magdalin. Alot of people believe she was just a prostitute but I believe she was his wife. When he was buried she waited for him to rise. She was there when he was at the stake. Why else would she be so devoted to this guy inless she was married to him?? Hell she got more attention then his mother did.
One final thing is when Christ was born it was in the winter. It says something about sheperds hearding their sheep. Sheperds do not heard sheep in the winter time.

And how do you know this for certain? Everything is open to interpretation. Yes, one of the ppl in the painting resembles a woman. Could have been an inside joke. But was DaVinci at the last supper to witness if their really was one.  DC is just like the Bible. Everything is open to your own interp. You believe what you want but it doesn't make anyone else right or wrong in their beliefs either.

C'mon Todras, Dateline? That show is not worthy of any praise and is used as a marketing tool. Every question they have ever asked there guests were sent to there publicist 2-weeks prior to the interview. There flavor of journalism is that of Larry King. Never a hard hitting interview.

I didnt say everyone else was wrong. This whole thing is going to turn into a debate. Its like saying one religion is better than the other.

Nor did anyone else. Just making a point that the book is for entertainment purposes and to take it for what it is. You can go ahead and believe what you'd like.

I guess everyone sucks. I thought it was a good show & they portrayed both sides on the debate very well IMO. Didn't slant it like a Michael Moore documentary.

And that is the beauty of America. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Dan Brown obviously has his own opinion, as does Fmr13B. No one's is right, no one is wrong, it is OPINION. If they (Fmr13B, and others) are not intellectually stimulated by reading Dan Brown, that is fine. I enjoyed the book very much so, as did my wife, who was apprehensive at first to read it, because of the nature of the book. She understands that the book is someone elses interpretation of events that are not fully understood. She read the book for entertainment, not because the book claims to unseat the Bible .
