I read Da Vinci code, and I loved it. I have heard that the other Dan Brown books aren't as good, but I have been meaning to read them anyway.
As for RogerB's comments... The Da Vinci code is Dan Brown's take on the history regarding the Catholic Church, just as the Bible is the Catholic Church's take on the Catholic Church. Dismissing his book and facts as "entertainment value" is equivalent to saying his opinion doesn't count, only the Bible does.
I am a big fan of reading true crime books, in particular, mob books. If anyone here is intrigued by the mob, and wants a good read, I highly recommend reading "The Last Gangster" by George Anastasia.
