Take the screw out of the bottom and stick a small scratch awl (or similar tool) in the screw hole and pry it forward. The screw hole is drilled into a small piece of metal. Get the awl into one of the surrounding holes and pry it forward some more. Once you clear that small piece, you'll be able to pry it off through the screw hole in the tip, until enough is out for you to pull it. It takes me less than 10 seconds to get each one off. And yes, they're still on tight when i put them on (rarely).

Wow those actually look used!!!!!!!!!

We used a slide hammer to get mine out.. they are pita but once you get them out you'll be MUCH happier. The only reason to get the Bassani is the sound.. why would you want them more quiet? And I didn't know you weren't suppoed to take them out.. now who on earth would think they weren't for taking out?
