Like ANANDTECH . I really like that feature.Ill throw in some money for it too. Vbulletin has the option to subscribe to threads

doesn't matter to me which one is used since I know almost nothing about this type of stuff. If either of these two programs are better than what we have now and will be more trouble free then I'm all for it.
I read through the links, ikonboard says somethingn about a built in messenger program, if that is something similar to AOL Instant Messenger that might be a handy feature.

I know it's not one of the options, but like others have mentioned Zeroforum is great! Instant messages, notepads, and the capability to have many, many members - VWVortex has 54,000 registered members!! I'm on another smaller board that also uses Zeroforum with no problems as well. Just my $.02 www.vwvortex.com check it out... Alex in Boulder, CO 95SE MTX Fast...soon to be faster! 84 Jetta GLI Rice Burner

My vote is for VBulletin, I frequent NewCelica.org and it uses VBulletin software I believe, nice site. InfoPop's UBB software is quite heavy duty if deployed and configured properly (clubsi.com uses UBB for instance and has a huge member base), perhaps we aren't doing something right here software-wise? Just curious what kinda problems we are experiencing?

I have experience with all 3 types of boards and i definetly prefer VBulletin better. also with the chatter about options i.e. Instant(private) messaging: that is either included or can put put in to vbb.

Funny, I was wishing it would change the other day!
VBULLETIN gets my vote. Im very familiar with using it on another forum and once accustomed to, its very instinctual. Many nice features too. ikonboard is a little too plain IMO.
