Ok, I am a retard...I was backing out of my garage this morning and knocked my mirror right off of my car. So, now I do not have a left mirror. I have a t-red 2000 SVT with about 47,000 miles, so I was wondering what my options were.

I live in Santa Clara, and have already contacted Frontier Ford, they said that the new mirror costs $168. The part would need to be painted. I was hoping that you guys might have some suggestions. The casing(red part) is cracked and scratched, the black post is broken, but the glass part and the motor are not broken. The posts that attach the motor to the black post are broken.

First, would it be difficult to get the new paint on the mirror to match the rest of the car?

Second, would it be difficult to replace the mirror myself?

Third, are there any shops that you guys can reccomend for havin this kind of work done?

Thanks in advance!

could have been lucky like my old car, i didn't have color matched side mirrors - just the standard Contour ones... only SVT that I know who's had that from the factory...

good luck... maybe cheaper to find 2 matching ones at a wrecking yard?

Your best bet is using www.car-part.com and finding one through a junkyard.

Any T-Red one will do as it was not a SVT only color.

Other options include buying a new one from Bill Jenkins at Signature Lincoln Mercury, Savings of about 20% from Frontiers prices along with no tax and cheap shipping.

I have a T-red case if you find one that is the wrong color. PM me if interested.
