IMO it almost looks like a rip off of a 2003 Dodge Stratus(if your wondering why I think this look at the head lights of this and a 03 Stratus), and yes it does look way better then the current design, the current one isnt all that hot.
Comparson:
03 Dodge Stratus:
06 Chevy Impala:
Is it just me or do these 2 cars look alike?

IMO, that little gold emblem looks incredibly gay. that does not look like an "impala". i think the current one looks better although i think it pretty much sucks too. if only they made one more like the 96

I wonder if Chevy could have done one of those trendy "retro" designs or whatever with like a 64/65 Impala without screwing it up... I don't like "retro" cars, but I do like how 64/65s look.

Isn't there a holden they could bring over with a nice big v8 and 6 speed. That would make a better impala SS then this crap.

I think they already did (the coupe version) from Australia with the GTO...
BTW the car I think you're thinking of is a Holden Commodore with the 5.7L. They already brought it up here as a Cadillac Catera, but w/o the V8 for some odd reason. It's a similar to an Opel Omega in Europe. They also use these as cop cars down there.

Beg to differ. That is one of the worst design I've seen in a long time.

Is there a single automobile stylist with taste and talent in the industry? The Aztek Awards are going to be challenging with so many ugly cars.
It looks like a 1996 Lumina crossed with a 1996 Impala with a Solara back end!
