So with the stock svt exhaust, if you replace the resonator with a magnaflow does that sound more raspy than a glasspack or is just removing the resonator and putting just tubing in its place sound better?

take it from me. go and spend the money on a trubendz setup for like $300 plus shipping . i tryed to take the easy way out myself like you but it only leads to the honda sound.

well my exhaust doesn't sound like a honda it does have an import sound though. no rasp but still crappy, its louds just doesn't sound like it has any balls.like it did before i replaced the stock resonator.

remove the stock mufflers and or replace them with high flow units.would be the cheap way out with a decent sound.

if you replace the resonator with a high flow straight through design you won't get the sound your looking for i've got a magnaflow 2 1/4 " inlet and outlet straight through design with a 2 1/2 " core ,4" round muffler sounds crappy in my opinion.

save your self the money in the long run and buy a cat back.

if you replace the resonator with a straight pipe you will hate it. i have a magnaflow and still hate it.

Order of raspiness:

1)Straight Pipe (lots of rasp)
2)Glass pack (a little rasp at first, then as the stuffing blows out it gets obnoxious)
3)Magnaflow (not raspy ever)

Yeah, just go with the Trubendz setup. Take it from me. I wasted $250+ on a crappy Flowmaster muffler and labor, when I could have had an entire catback system installed for $310 with more power and a better sound to boot. Hail Trubendz.

Whats wrong with no resonator and a quasi dual hi flow magnaflows Sounds great just not too loud. A hiflow y pipe should give me the sound i want. If you want a real muscle sound by a muscle car.

Okay, I am going to order this from Trubendz.

FORD CONTOUR SVT DUAL EXHAUST (fits non-SVT with adjustments)
ALUMINIZED STEEL 2.5 INCH WITH MAGNAFLOW MUFFLER AND SS TIPS.
PRICE: $310.00
SHIPPING: $30.00

Hopefully I will end up with a decent sound, NO rasp, and not be deaf by the time it comes in the mail.

Next week professors I need to know more about the "moose" and what the heck is causing my car to studder. Then I can move on to improving the performance more instead of fixing what's broken.

Any reason to go with Alumized over Stainless besides lower price? What are the benefits of the stainless version?

Cheaper & lighter (significantly & minorly)

Lasts close to twice as long (guesstimating 8-9 verses 4-5)

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.
