Does anyone know where I can get a a Vortec S/C installed in the Mississauga or Toronto area and how much it would cost?
I'm looking to get my S/C installed shortly since the SVT is off the road for the winter.
Thanks!

Too bad Chris doesn't have his own shop From what I understand, the install was a bit tricky but doable. The only real performance shops I know of are: - Steeda.ca/Mustang Performance Warehouse in Milton - DaSilva Racing in Scarborough - TAG Motorsports in Oakville DaSilva is probably booked solid from all its Mustang clients. Steeda/MPW just opened their place not too long ago. Avoid any place that has been on Tuner Transformation or the likes. Steve from the Focus commercials had a bad run-in...I'm still not certain they fixed his Vortech on his ZX5.

All I can say is, welcome to the SC club. It would be recommended to have a place with a hoist, and I will tell you from personal experience, removing the subframe makes the job a heck of a lot easier, but......., it doesn't have to be removed. Saying that, expect to take at least 3 days or longer, of constant work to get it installed, not the 14 hours (BS) that Vortech claimed. I can see 14 hours, when the engine is sitting on an engine stand, and the engine is not equipped with A/C lines.

Hi Chris,
What were some of the issues that you ran into during your install?
Also, how many k's have you put on the car since the install? (How is the S/C holding up?)

Maybe 1000Km if your lucky. Chris' car is not a daily driver so for normal wear and tear related issues you will have to ask in the FI forum. From what I understand the jack-shaft is the biggest issue. IIRC there is an upgrade for it or someone machined a piece to make it run true. Good luck with the install, let us know where you're doing it so we can pop our heads in.

Actually, I have about 4000 kms on the superhcarger now. I did a lot of driving the first year with it, not so much last year.
Issues, fitment issues mainly. Everything is tight, and some of the parts did not line up, requiring modification, including the discharge volute pipe which had to be cut. The supercharger exit volute was not set at the right angle. I have since corrected that when I installed the after cooler.

Oops my mistake but still not what you would consider a daily driver .
