Well, I Guess you could be right about the speedometer being off. Yes, I know the Zetec sounds bad @$$ at high revs. Too bad it doesn't do much for acceleration. My car seems to be better in the lower end. Need less to say. Without a cop or a radar gun, I could never verify that.

In the 95s, if you disable the VSS (vehicle speed sensor), you also lose cruise control, but the governor disappears! Car has no idea how fast you're going. Thank god for cable-driven speedos! BTW, this will not work on 96+ cars.

cool

The 143 drag speed would be for a stock SVT. If you increased its power the car would go faster. That is why a Zetec tops out slower, less power. frown

BECAUSE there is a limiter in the PCM to 112mph for all Non-SVT's.

psst... read the other posts... wink

Sorry I wasn't clicking and I did read all the post. I was just more curious how it was bs if the car was powerfull enough to do it sans the being chipped factor....my bad! :p

Well I know mine is off at that speed. I timed myself on the interstate once. Doing an indicated 110mph, I clocked 30 seconds between two mile markers, which equates 120mph. and I KNOW it has more in it than that, as it will hit the rev limiter HARD when accelerating, I wouldn't be surprised if she could reach 135, maybe even 140 with a real superchip eek

Someone should just chart up a speed per rpm chart in final gear. That way when you know what your indicated rpm is you can correlate it to your speed :p I'm pretty sure that redline is around 140 to 150 mph or 240.5 kmh. Just a thought that could save all the questioning

It's been hashed to death already many times. This topic comes up every couple months or so.

People always believe thier speedometer over physics and gear ratios for some odd reason...
