I just moved into my new house in the country on 17 Dec. There were a small herd of deer that were hanging around my property and the adjoining farms. I had really enjoyed looking for them in the morning behind my house and when walking in the woods and had decided to set up a salt lick.
A good part of my driveway runs through another manâ??s farm and by his pond (I have a 50 ft wide easement). Driving home last night I noticed that they had set up a camouflaged tent of sorts and arrayed around it were the bodies of four deer. The dead deer are still out there this afternoon, and now that my eyes are looking for it, I can see the decayed bodies (hide and bone) of maybe another dozen dead deer in his field.
What the hell! This seems like an utterly pointless kind of hunting to me â??? I am not even sure it is legal. I have a real desire top try and stop it, but am not sure what right I have to say anything. It has clearly been going on long before I started living here. The area he is â??huntingâ? is completely isolated from the public by many acres of land.
Maybe he is providing a useful service by culling the population. Maybe he is just a vicious ass. Maybe both. I have not decided what to do if anything. God knows I do not need a neighbor dispute. Any thoughts?

You could show up with a hidden camera or video camera. You might not even need to conceal the camera. Act like you are impressed. After he brags about killing all the deer and you get everything on tape including the rotting copses, send copies of the tape to the game warden, PETA, local news and post them on the internet.
Animals don't have many rights so I don't know if anybody will do anything. Iâ??m sure it would harm his reputation if people knew what he was doing.

I agree that it would be a good idea to take photos and send them to the game warden. But be careful! If this guy is shooting lots of deer and leaving them to rot, he may not exactly be mentally balanced. You do not want him seeing you taking photos or anything. Consider him armed and dangerous.
