Where I live there are water snakes, water dog lizards and beavers. The last time I went fishing there was a beaver slapping its tail against the water to try to scare me away. I wouldn't have the nerve to reach in to feel for a catfish. I would probably reach in and grab a beaver, lizard or snake. I've caught 2 foot long lizards on my trot lines. Would you fish with your bare hands?

LOL, glad I wasn't the only one who read that as "fisting" at first. Sicko.

I saw a show on the Discovery channel where they were "fisting" these 50lb catfish. It was insane.

is it just me or do those fish look like someone busted a Rodney King on them? and DAMN those things are big!
i think i saw the episode on Discovery about this. Is this where they stick their arm under water and wait for a fish to try to swallow it and then they pull it out?

If you've got the skill to catch a fish with your bare hands, then power to you!

I catch crawfish with my bare hands. I catch them behind the pincher claws and I haven't got pinched yet.
