Hey auiotour, I beleive I was giving opinions on the Accord.
I don't know what point 3733 was trying to make about the worth of my vehicles. Sorry I tried to blow him off with some humor.
Now, earlier I thought I would try explain my opinions on the car. My situation shapes those opinions. Yours shapes yours.
You have a PM.

I did read the rest of the paragraph, and most things sre designed to last longer than they are warrantied. However, it IS likely that a buyer will have to pay for a battery change if owned for a long time.
I am not bashing hybrids. I am merely stating what multiple financial analyses have said: buying a Hybrid will not save you money. It does not mean that there aren't other reasons to buy or that hybrids are bad cars.

The numbers look impressive, but the technology is still too early in its infancy for me to spend any where near that amount of money. I'll take a diesel, please.

I'm not convinced the hybrid is any cleaner. What of the toxic waste that the battery becomes when it needs replacement.
For me, if I'm looking to reduce motoring costs, I look at the biggest cost first, the vehicle, and not at a much small cost, such as the fuel.
Since a 30MPG vehicle at $2/gallon makes the cost for fuel to operate the vehicle about $0.067/mile and a $20k vehicle costs $0.20/mile if it has a 100K lifespan just to buy the vehicle, reducing the cost to acquire the vehicle is the probably the most effective way to reduce driving costs.
