Sigma, you forgot to add that almost none of these people affected have insurance. Their local standard of living just doesn't allow such a luxury. How the hell are they going to rebuild their homes without help? Also, these regional economies have been utterly destroyed.

Argue about the level of aid if you must, people, but the "they don't help us after a disaster" arguement just shows ignorance as to how the rest of the world lives.

It's amazing what we take for granted.
