I would imagine so, since tsunami's travel under water untill they reach the coast. I would think that it would easily carry a submarine muck like the way that a wave carries a surfer (just underwater, and killing everyone onboard).

werd. i haven't read much of this thread but it's laughable how many of you are so gullible to attention whoring tactics.
i've been looking at some of the statistics/diagrams on the quake and the following tsunami and this was an impressive (though destructive) display of tectonics cause and effect. understanding how that works and the layout of affected areas sheds more light on why there was such a loss of life. a warning system might have helped a little but the required communication system infrastructure to warn the public isn't in place for most of these areas. there's pretty much nothing that could have been done to prevent this catastrophe.
