Wrong.

It's whoever wins the Super Bowl. Does anyone actually remember (or talk about for that matter) who had the best record each year?

However yards/game given up is a better representation of how good the defense is.....not pts/game.

Wrong again.

Ask any NFL analyst which defense they would rather have:
a) gives up the fewest yards per game
b) gives up the fewest points per game

I would bet money at least 9/10 would say the defense that gives up the fewest points per game. Many analysts have said it time and time again - yards p/ game is not a good representation and points per game is better.

It's simple:
The less the other teams score, the less your offense has to score to win.

What defense would you rather have?
a) gives up 400 yds p/ game and 14 pts p/ game
b) gives up 200 yds p/ game and 21 pts p/ game

YOU ALL ARE OWNED...numbers speak volumes...

Wrong again.

1. Every game goes way beyond the numbers whether it's football, baseball, basketball, etc.
Numbers mean nothing if you can't win. In this case of defense in the NFL - Washington, Tampa Bay, Miami.
2. It depends on what division you play in.
Play in the weak NFC vs AFC for example. AFC top to bottom is way better than the NFC. The better teams in the NFC have an easier schedule than the teams in the AFC.
3. It depends on your offense, too
If your offense can't score points, can't control the clock, can't get good field position for the defense, etc., a great defense means nothing. Again, Washington, Tampa Bay, Miami.
4. Most people know that statistics are misleading.

Since "numbers speak volumes" let me educate you and correct your rant:

Your arguement of "yards per game is better"
1. Pit 14-1
2. Was 5-10
3. Buf 9-6
4. Den 9-6
5. TB 5-10
6. NYJ 10-6
7. Bal 8-7
8. Mia 4-11
9. NE 13-2
10. Phi 13-2
Total combined record: 90-61

3 teams w/ losing records in the top 10 of yds p/ game.
2 teams w/losing records in the top 5 of yds p/ game.

Points per game:
1. Phi 13-2
2. Pit 14-1
3. NYJ 10-6
4. Bal 8-7
5. Was 5-10
6. NE 13-2
7. Buf 9-6
8. Jax 8-7
9. Den 9-6
10. TB 5-10
Total combined record: 94-57

2 teams w/ losing records in the top 10 of yds p/ game.
1 teams w/losing records in the top 5 of yds p/ game.

Hmmm...your "numbers" theory doesn't even support your own argument.

Teams and players are judged by Super Bowl victories, not numbers.

Before you spout off again calling people dumbasses and babies:
1. get your facts right
(I didn't even bother correcting your incorrect statistics)
2. support your arguement with data that supports it and doesn't shoot it down
