How about the Steelers? With their fancy #1 ranked rushing offense... sure sounds like the key to beating them would be to stop the run!

Also, the Pats didn't have to win on the road before the game against Oakland in '01. They had a first round bye, then the snow game against Oakland, then the AFC title game in Pittsburgh.
HAHAHA, exactly. I was just waiting for someone else to point that out to rub it in because at least twice I've heard that "steelers can't be beat in pittsburg!"
In doing research I saw 2 things. Steelers jumped out on pats in first quarter big. Remaining 3 quarters patriots win 17-13. A win is a win, but the patriots only ran the ball 5 times because dillon was hurt and the hole that they dug themselves. I don't think they will dig that same hole again. Other stat is that patriots had a tougher schedule this year. combined record of steelers opponents (assuming eagles lose tonight and rams win) 105-120 Combined records of patriots opponents 117-108.
Bottom line, I don't have to like the steelers and you don't gotta like the pats, but we gotta respect each other because this will be a good game. (even though I think the pats with dillon healthy will destroy pitt)
What has to be respected? A all out offense(Pats) or a well rounded team(Steelers.) I think your getting alittle too emotional on this one. Once, you start saying this "we" stuff, then there is really no need to talk to you anymore. I made in error inregards to the first round statement.
Yes, they got a bye. Mind you they might get use to sitting around because they most likely WON'T win their FIRST playoff game.
Like I said before, it is going to the "Battle for PA" in the Superbowl. The last time I checked the Patriots were in a sorry area of the country called "New England". Have a nice night.
you arent ignorant, your just plain stupid. I didn't use we in there once and since when do the patriots have a bad defense? Nno point in arguing with you because you just don't know anything
Stay off the crack, homey. Yet, you call me ignorant. Son, please. What I see here is a emotional fanboy. "Don't be talking about my team, b!tch!"
Checkmate.

You used "US" as in "WE". Little boy, please shutup.
It is well known the that Pats lack a defense. The offense has saved them from defeat a countless number of times this year. The key to beating the Pats is to put pressure on Tom Brady. Pittsburg and Miami did and they both got "W's" for that. The Dolphins showed that if you put pressure on Brady and our able to have a productive offensive game of your own then you will beat the Patriots.
Gee, did you just come from football 101? Can you name any teams where the key to beating them isn't putting pressure on their QB????? dumbass
Well known that the pats lack a defense? well known by who, the three teams that rank ahead of them in scoring defense??? Yes, the steelers have the number one scoring D at 15.1 pts/game but the pats are 4th at 16.9 Factor in the Pats 4th best offense at 27.7/ game vs the steelers at 22.9/ game and I don't see how you can say "your" team is better than "mine". And if i'm not mistaken didn't a previous post say that the pats were one dimensional???? So one dimesional that they are ranked #4 on offense and defense!!!!!
fist of all you forgot one important factor...you forgot the NFC (you know the OTHER half of the NFL) This being said the Pats rank 6th in the NFL where the Steelers rank 2nd in the NFL in pts/game.
However yards/game given up is a better representation of how good the defense is.....not pts/game. Points per game takes into the oposing teams strong points and weaknesses too much, such as red zone scoring % etc. Which is why yards/game is used to determine "the overall" best defense which again is the Steelers. (Since I know you've been going to ESPN.com to try to come up w/ stats to fight against the Steelers, why do you think when you click on "overall" in the defense category the default setting is set at yards/game. hint hint thats how they calculate the best overall D)
The Pats rank 9th in the NFL in yards/game ("overall") and the Steelers rank #1 in the NFL in yards/game ("overall")
face it the Steelers are a more superior team. They beat the Pats already and will do it again. NO ONE comes through the Burgh and comes out w/ a win. NO ONE

Man you really need to crawl up from under the rock you have been living under..its pretty sad. In case you didnt see this weekends match up Steelers v.s. Ravens. The Ravens w/ suposedly a very good defense could not stop the run. A prime example of this was the beginning of the 3rd Quarter where the Steelers ran about 12 plays..11 of which were runs (where yes the Steelers scored) b/c the Ravens couldn't stop the Steeler run game. No one can stop the Steeler run game HENSE it being #1 in the NFL
Secondly, "stop the run" you say as if thats the Steelers only weapon. Have you forgotten the rookie phenom Ben, who has already posted a "perfect game" in his rookie year agains the Jags. To put this into perspective, Manning only has 3 in his career. The steelers have the complete package that no other team has.
Guys Guys give it up...the Steelers are the best team period. No one is better

Deal, I don't want your money. If the Pats lose. I want you to write in magic marker this. "My name is DjCapp and I am a whining little sucka." Take a photo of and post it here.

Originally posted by Y2KSVT: This year is way too tough to predict. It's definitely anybody's game. Everyone can rally behind their team, and point out that the Patriots defense stinks, Big Ben isn't what he's cracked up to be, The Eagles have had an easy schedule, The Colts couldn't stop a middle school offense... But you know what, all of these teams have proven that they can WIN BALL GAMES!! Playoffs definitely put more pressure on the players, but it's just another game, in the path to the Super Bowl. Why people want to point out every other team's flaws as if it's a secret, and their team is going to walk all over them is ridiculous. Colts aren't my team, but I'm a fan, and it didn't take me 13 games to figure out that their Defense isn't the strongest in the league. How many games have they lost? It's obvious that these guys find a way to win, and it doesn't take a list of stats(#1 rushing, #5 passing, #12 defense, blah blah blah) to notice that. So root for your team, have fun watching every Sunday, and be ready for some unpredictably good matchups. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if one of the ~.500 teams make a good run for it.

very well said man....even though my team is in the crapper this year i am still a football fan...i think there are going to be some great playoff games this year...and i agree that a .500 team might make some noise as well...i would watch out for buffalo if they sneak in, they are on a hot streak....and who knows what might happen in the nfc...i'd say its prettty much up for grabs, unless t.o. is 100% come playoff time...
