Let me guess you're from Indy! Don't slap the S on his chest yet, let's see some playoff victories first.

No, actually, I'm from Michigan and have a mild level of disgust for Peyton because of his Tenn background, but he is doing some unprecedented things right now.

Yeah, like win big games. Errrr.....maybe not.

All for naught if you don't show up when it matters.

Come talk to me as soon as Peyton has won a Super Bowl and has established the status of legend.

So, he plays on a team with poor defense, doesn't diminish his abilities. The thing that bothers me about Favre is he doens't know when to sit. There have been a couple of years where the team would have been bettered served if he had sat out 5-6 games, yet he continued to play and caused the team to lose by playing with injuries. I admire his toughness, but it can go to far. All that said, Peyton is doing things that others simply aren't capable of including Farve. He can throw it deep with accuracy, he has touch when needed, he has an absolute canon when the time calls for it, and not only does he look off defensive backs, he literally knows where every receiver is without looking. If he doesn't win a superbowl it will be a shame, but if he doesn't he will simply displace Marino as the best pure passer in NFL history. I guess I should be following Tom Brady, he is obviously twice as good as Favre.

Meh, Favre is still the MF'ing MAN! We'll see what happens when Manning is all said and done.

He just eclipsed the record of another guy who never won the big game, Dan Marino who eclipsed the records of a guy who held 4 major all-time passing records including most TD's and most yardage in his career, Fran Tarkington.(Also the most prolific rushing QB of his time) In the last 7 years of his career his team won the division 6 times and went to the Super Bowl 3 times but he never won the big game. He was elected to the Hall of Fame 8 years after his retirement, 3 years after becoming eligible.

My point is the NFL likes a winners not numbers and until Manning can win the big game he's just a guy surrounded with good talent that throws a lot of TD's.

wtf..?

Colts are not going to Super Bowl..This is gonna be a repeat of last years playoffs. Pats will crush the Colts and Peyton Manning, who broke Marino's record (congrads), will really be like Marino, really good, but with no ring....EVER!

qoute of the thread...real good one haha. anyways peyton is amazing. favre is still good also, but winning the super bowl isn't based upon just the qb so you guys saying "favre won a SB so he's better" are full of it. look at brady last season he threw a handful of td passes the whole season but they won the super bowl becasue of what...yea defense. this is a trite statement, but offense wins games but defense wins championships, correct me if i'm wrong. but peytons time will soon come.
