About going with a sold torque shock...I don't know about this. In theory, its fine. Keep in mind though that the shock mounts to the ALUMINUM transmission case. If twisting motion is too great and the aluminum is nice and hot, a solid shaft in place of the shock could cause the case to crack at the mounting point. Stress the work "could" here because I've never seen one or had one installed, so I don't know how much force the mouting point can take. Exactly! Solid mounting anything made of CAST ALUMINUM (can you say brittle as ****) is a very dumb idea.
