I looked into doing the v8 focus swap for about a year.. bought a engine and trany for the swap (351w/AOD), got it all set and they raised the price on the kit to almost 7k... I didn't even have a focus, so that would add 5k as well.. looking at 12k+ about 2k to make it all work... and then they dropped a bomb.. the kit does not include the handling setup of the rs-8, and "no immidiate plans" to add it, a lot of complaints about body roll from people using the kits...
Instead I did some more research and decided on a rx-7 v8 swap using the motor I have.. the total package adds about 100 pounds to the middle of the car.. so a little stiffer springs all round, and I'll have my handling back.. best part, the kit is only $850 and includes everything that you need including the driveshaft... picked up a mint 85 gsl-se with 4 wheel disc and a ready to die 13b for only $2200 (pretty high for an 85, but ass loads cheaper than any other car I've worked on) I'll be putting it together in the next few weeks.
