Ive heard of a couple interesting ways CC numbers have been stolen. One was they were paying store clerks to swipe customer credit cards through seperate machines real quickly then the real ones. At the end of the day they would pay the clerk and take their swiper filled with numbers. Another one is an adapter that is placed on an existing ATM. It fits flush over the card reader and captures the swipe. There is a small camera disguised as a receipt holder or similar that records the pin numbers. All of it looks original so people dont pick up on it. (I used to have diagrams from security people but I tossed it.) There are some variations on these. Amazing what they will come up with.
